FIELD: manufacture of building materials, namely production of cement. SUBSTANCE: at making cement raw material is subjected to preliminary heating and then it is subjected at least to partial roasting in roasting chamber. In upper central portion of said chamber burner is mounted. Raw material is fed to roasting chamber through tangential inlet port in the form of suspension in hot gas supplied from cooler. Partially roasted material is discharged from lower portion of roasting chamber through connection assembly to roasting furnace. Suspended in gas material is discharged out of roasting chamber to cyclone separator for separating gas and solid material. Waste gases from rotary furnace are fed to roasting furnace through second pipe. Height of upper portion of inner space of roasting chamber (h1-h2) arranged between tip of burner and upper edge of tangential inlet port (being the most upper point of hot gas supply from cooler) is equal at least to 1/3D, where D -diameter of cylinder with height h1-h2 and with volume equal to that of upper portion of roasting chamber. Height of lower portion of inner space of roasting chamber h3-h4 arranged between lower edge of tangential inlet port and discharge opening of roasting chamber (being the most low point of hot gas supply from cooler) is equal at least to D. Such plant allows to use in roasting zone of furnace fuel with low reaction capability such as oil coke and coal with small gas content. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced efficiency. 8 cl, 2 dwg
