METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CLEANING PIPE LINE WITH RETURN RISER Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: cleaning pipe lines provided with return riser; descaling pipes and removal of scale from various pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in longitudinal feeding of milling cutter which is set in rotation through flexible shaft for descaling the pipe; simultaneously, flushing water is sprayed below descaling zone in way of scale running-off at excessive pressure. Descaling is effected by longitudinal fed of milling cuter in way opposite to running-off of removed scale, to this end, milling cutter is introduced into pipe line below return riser and is drawn-through from front side (relative to direction of feed). Device proposed for realization of this method is provided with revolving milling head which is symmetrical relative to axis of drive; milling head is fitted with trunnion at its rear end face and lug for suspending at its front end face; milling head is made in form of body of revolution as body of milling cutter with generatrix arc-wise falling down towards lug; lateral surface of this body is provided with knife parts forming blades running mainly along helical lines.
