FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: stereoscopic display device has unit for generation of assemblage of visible images presenting different perspective views of general plan, unit for generation of assemblage of observation zones of visible images and optical element with positive focal power. Specified units and optical element are so placed that optical element forms real image of observation zones and virtual image of visible images. As result each virtual image is viewed by observer only when trajectory of light beam can be drawn from observer's eye through real image of corresponding observation zone, optical element and visible image. Unit for generation of assemblage of visible images has aid-carrier of image or individual aids-carriers of image which are positioned between optical element and rear focal point of optical element. EFFECT: provision for formation of visible image at unspecified distance from observer and with unspecified dimensions that are not limited by sizes of display proper. 12 cl, 11 dwg
