FIELD: generation of stereo images on display screens. SUBSTANCE: method involves displaying information for left and right eyes of observer on display screen and conversion of this information to stereo image by means of conversion of source information signals to at least two synchronous sequences or alternating groups of encoded signals with images for left and right eyes of observer, generation of alternating image elements for left and right eyes of observer by means of selective transmission of images for left and right eyes of observer through optical film strip pattern which is designed as vertical lines, correction of image elements for left and right eyes of observer on display screen depending on alternation of observer's position. Device which implements said method has serial circuit of converter of information to signals for left and right eyes of observer, unit for displaying picture elements for left and right eyes of observer. Latter unit is optically connected to converter of image elements to stereo image. Unit for displaying image elements is screen of either computer display, cathode-ray terminal or any other device for TV displaying of visual information. Image elements are converted to stereo image by means of optical strip pattern which is applied over display screen or is mounted inside kinescope of display or any other device for TV displaying of visual information. Invention provides possibility to view stereo images of arbitrary complexity and definiteness, including dynamic ones, without glasses or other additional equipment by means of tradition visual information displaying tool, simple add-on hardware and software units.
