FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method solid lubricant is applied to initial surface of wheel flange on section of its possible contact with surface of rail head and then alternating projections and cavities are formed on this section. Then additional depressions for accumulating the lubricant are made on surfaces of projections and cavities and their change-over sections. EFFECT: increased wear resistance of rails and flanges of railway vehicles. 3 cl, 3 dwg
