FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: power plant that may be used in distant northern regions both at above-zero and subzero temperatures has lead vessel, radioactive material, horizontally or vertically mounted photoelectric batteries and heat-transfer apparatus. Photoelectric batteries possess hole conductivity and are arranged in two or four rows. Heat-transfer apparatus is made in the form of slotted chamber with ventilation ports made of radiation-permeable material. It is placed between photoelectric batteries and radioactive material to protect these batteries from possible overheating. Heat-transfer apparatus chamber may be filled with cooling agent. Built into power plant vessel is pilot lamp. Substance radiating for instance γ- quanta may be used as radioactive material. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 2 dwg
