FIELD: energy conversion engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has radiation-safe tank accommodating radionuclides and connected through transformer to electric load by means of conductors. Upper part of tank is made in the form of enclosed duct divided by means of partition into top and bottom compartments. Top compartment is filled with insulating cells holding semiconducting materials forming anodes and cathodes connected in series by means of contacts. Bottom part of duct is evacuated to protect bank of anodes and cathodes against heating. Semiconducting material irradiated by radionuclides starts carrying electric current which can be conveyed to user. EFFECT: provision for useful application of radioactive fuel wastes or soil contaminated with radionuclides. 1 dwg
