FIELD: filter materials. SUBSTANCE: during preparation of molding blend, the latter is supplemented by filler, in particular fractionated disthene-sillimanite, and sulfate alcohol mash, total moisture being 5-6%. Blend is then subjected to bilateral pressing accompanied with vibration followed by heat treatment including isothermal pauses at temperatures causing: losses of adsorption and interlayer moisture and burning of organic binder until removal of CO is completed. Process is finished at temperature, at which sodium montmorillonite assumes amorphous state and mullite is formed. EFFECT: enabled preparation of materials with high homogeneity within the bulk of permeable material, which leads to diminished average-statistic confidence interval for physicochemical characteristics of filter elements. 1 tbl
