FIELD: filter materials. SUBSTANCE: when preparing plastic paste, 65-78% electrocorundum m40, 10-30% bentonite, and 5-12% sulfate-alcohol brew are introduced. Paste is placed in press mold having specified structure and dimensions. Two constituents of porous carrier are compacted in mirror-reflection mode, dried, and fired at bentonite melting temperatures: 1250±50 C. Resulting pieces are treated on their landing surfaces, onto which adhesive components are applied and then the pieces are assembled. Open surfaces of hollow porous carrier are covered by sprayed suspension containing electrocorundum m3 or m5 and alumino-chromo- phosphate binder, held at ambient temperature, and subjected to heat treatment at temperature ensuring completion of interaction of alumino- chromo-phosphate binder with material of filler and porous carrier. EFFECT: eliminated heterogeneities in filter element volume, reduced hydraulic resistance of filtering layer and thereby increased productivity of filtration installations. 2 dwg, 2 tbl
