FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of synthesis of vinyl-n-butyl ester that is a valuable active monomer used for production of vinypol VB-2, VB-3, copolymer of VBM and vinylon B. Method involves vinylation of butanol in the presence of potassium alkaline as a catalyst at 135-160 C under pressure of acetylene at inlet 1.4-1.5 ati. As a rule, the process is carried out in continuous combined reactive-rectifying regime at countercurrent contact of acetylene and butanol solution in the content of potassium alkali 0.2-2.0 wt.-% and acetylene feeding to the bottom of reactor and butanol solution is fed by countercurrent to the upper cross section of the reactor. The ratio of acetylene : butanol = (1.5-2.0) : 1.0 mole/mole at parameter of the process control P/W = 13-15 mole/mole where P is the amount of productive flow removing from reactor upper and W is the amount of the spent catalyst solution from reactor bottom. Method ensures to increase the yield of ester up to 85%, increase time of catalyst work and simplify the process based on decrease of consumption norm of the parent substances and amount of catalyst solution used for regeneration.
