FIELD: siccatives. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of synthesis of siccatives used for acceleration of drying the film of paint and varnish covers. Siccative if synthesized by saponification of tall oil fatty acids in acid number 185 mg of KOH/g, not less, or distilled tall oil in acid number 165 mg of KOH/g, not less, with sodium hydroxide an aqueous solution at 85-90 C to attain an acid number 13-20 mg of KOH/g and in the ratio of fatty-acid component (100%) and sodium hydroxide (100%) = (10-15) : 1, respectively. Method involves the following interaction of prepared water-soluble salt with aqueous solutions of lead basic acetate and manganese sulfate in the following ratio of the parent components, wt.-%: fatty-acid component, 20.0-30.0; sodium hydroxide an aqueous solution, 1.5-3.0; manganese sulfate an aqueous solution (100%), 2.0-4.0; lead basic acetate an aqueous solution (100%), 3.0-10.0; organic solvent, the balance. Method provides to obtain light siccatives exhibiting the enhanced color stability in the storage and containing more high mass part of nonvolatile substances being in retention of the high level of catalytic activity. EFFECT: improved method of siccative synthesis. 2 tbl, 5 ex
