SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of metal salts of fatty acids, which are used as multifunctional additives, complex stabilizers, desiccants, promoters, ingredients in rubber products, and also in the production of prooxidants - oxobio-degradable additives for polymeric materials with a controlled life. A method for the preparation of carboxylates of metals of variable valence is described, comprising saponifying a mixture of fatty acids and fatty wastes with caustic alkali and subsequently reacting with soluble metal salts of variable valency in which, in the first stage, the fatty acids and their derivatives are saponified in a reactor with a stirring device when exposed to an ultrasonic generator with specific capacity 250÷500 W/dm3. The process of saponification is carried out with caustic alkali or its salt for 180÷300 seconds in the temperature range of 140-170°C, and the pH of the medium is maintained at 9.0±0.25, and then sent to a second reactor, where the sodium carboxylates are treated with variable-valence metal salts when exposed to an ultrasonic generator with a specific power of 250÷500 W/dm3 for 300÷600 seconds to achieve an acid number of not more than 0.5 mg KOH/g.
EFFECT: method for obtaining carboxylates of variable valence metals has been developed, which has a reduced energy intensity, increased conversion, industrial and technological safety.
