FIELD: systems for technical inspection of objects of electrically conductive material. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes pickup of astatic signals for forming electromagnetic field in object and detector for measuring fluctuation of eddy current caused by astatic electromagnetic field and for generating signal representing attenuation of eddy current. Astatic signal pickup includes at least two emitters separated crosswise one from another and designed for irradiating electromagnetic field. At usual operation emitters are excited in such a way that resulting electromagnetic field increases in central zone between emitters. EFFECT: increased resolution of apparatus, enhanced accuracy of inspection, enlarged using range. 15 cl, 8 dwg
