FIELD: invention refers to measuring technique.
SUBSTANCE: for monitoring of thickness of electricity conducting wall of object they use sound of impulse vortex currents containing transmitting means and receiving means. Points of measurements are picked up on wall. Sound is placed in given position relatively to place of measurement in several moments of time. Transitional vortex currents are put in object by way of excitation of transmitting means. Signals are registered with aid of receiving means. According to each signal thickness of wall relative to time of measuring is defined. Values of thickness of wall are compared with each other with purpose of determination of changes in time. At that they take into consideration temperature of object in place and in time of measurement.
EFFECT: improves measurement of thickness of wall.
