FIELD: measuring equipment engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to invention, probe is used, which contains receiving and transmitting device for inducing transitory vortex currents in object and for outputting signal. Calibration point and a certain number of calibration positions of transmitting and receiving device are selected on surface of object. A set of calibration values is determined by determining characteristic value, connected to amplitude of signal, generated in receiver in response to transitory vortex currents induced in object. Calibration function is determined. A set of control points is selected on the surface of object and a set of corresponding control positions of transmitting and receiving device. A set of control values is determined by means of characteristic value of signal, generated in receiver in response to transitory vortex currents, induced in object by transmitter. Profile of surface is determined by means of interpretation of a set of control values with usage of calibration function, and during that relatively position of control points and corresponding control positions is determined.
EFFECT: increased efficiency.
