FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: device is designed for converting rotary motion into reciprocating motion and vice versa by means of gear frame. Proposed device has gear wheel coupling with outlet shaft for rotation in one direction and meshing with gear frame whose gear semicircles are made with radius exceeding wheel radius. Wheel is installed for transverse reciprocation and locking in extreme positions when one of frame sides moves along gear rack. Displacement of axis of wheel rotation in its extreme positions relative to axis of outlet shaft is either greater than or equal to half of tooth depth. EFFECT: provision of continuous meshing, elimination of wheel clashing when changing over from one rack of frame to its other rack. 2 cl, 1 dwg
