FIELD: adiabatic compression of gas in gas-turbine plants, refrigerating engineering, thermal pumps. SUBSTANCE: method includes compression of gas due to kinetic energies of gas and jet of liquid working medium; compressed gas-and-liquid mixture in form of jet is directed to area at excessive pressure which exceeds pressure built-up by liquid at initial stage of method where kinetic energy is extracted from jet; part of this energy is converted into mechanical energy and is returned to initial stage for forming additional kinetic energy of liquid working medium; remaining part of kinetic energy is directed to consumer; thermal energy is extracted from liquid working medium; liquid working medium at outlet of excessive pressure is separated from gas is directed to initial stage where acquired excessive pressure of liquid working medium is summed up with kinetic energy of working medium jets, used as liquid working medium is liquid at specific gravity exceeding specific gravity of water. Device used for compression of gas includes at least one jet compressor provided with coaxially fitted inlet branch pipe with outlet nozzle supplying working medium, intake chamber with side gas supply branch pipe and mixing chamber fitted with diffuser, at least one power pump whose outlet is communicated with inlet branch pipe of jet compressor, reservoir containing liquid working medium and gas, at least one separator for separating liquid working medium from gas and pipe lines; turbine with guide blades is additionally located in upper portion of reservoir filled with gas under excessive pressure; shaft of this turbine is kinematically and coaxially linked with shaft of power plant; lower portion of reservoir at excessive pressure is filled with separated liquid working medium; is additionally provided with passage connecting the outlet of reservoir with inlet of power pump and heat exchanger placed in liquid medium; inlet of guide blades is communicated with outlet of diffuser of jet compressor and separator is mounted above turbine; used as liquid medium is liquid at specific gravity below one; upper portion of reservoir is provided with pressure regulator which is communicated with compressed gas energy consumer. EFFECT: increased kinetic energy of working medium. 4 cl, 1 dwg
