FIELD: civil engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves laying ferroconcrete frame of box cross-section into foundation pit and then, bottom slabs are mounted on the surface near the walls. Bench marks are arranged in known order in the center of the bottom slabs for measuring slab deflections from bench mark positions in these cross-sections depending on the proper weight of the frame. Backfilling of pockets with soil is carried out and the bottom slab deflections are repeatedly measured using the same bench marks. Backfilling soil weight frozen over box-type frame walls is determined during the observation period by means of calculations from maximum bottom slab deflection value. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of the method with additional weight of soil frozen over the foundation walls taken into consideration. 2 cl, 1 dwg
