METHOD FOR DETECTION OF SOIL TEMPERATURE BY DEPTH OF FROST PENETRATION AT HIGH LEVEL OF GROUND WATER Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC E02D1/00

Abstract RU 2405887 C2

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method for detection of soil temperature by depth of frost penetration is characterised by the fact that on the territory intended for construction of object, during geological engineering survey, type of soil is identified, as well as its humidity, plastic limit, plasticity index, density of dry soil for layers, within the limits of seasonal frost penetration, then calculated value of 0°C penetration in soil is found with required provision under snow cover or without it using given dependence. Distribution of negative soil temperature is determined graphically along frost penetration depth, for this purpose at first, using available values of negative soil temperature distribution along depth of frost penetration calculated with required provision for each interval of 0.4 m, starting from depth of 0.8 m, graph is built by depth of frost penetration. Then along axis of coordinates, at T=0°C, calculated values of 0°C penetration depth are marked for developed territory with the same provision as for the observation post, from this point parallel line is drawn to previously produced graph, within the limits of each interval by depth of frost penetration, and produced graph will comply with actual distribution of negative temperature of soil by depth of penetration for developed territory with high level of ground water.

EFFECT: reduced material intensity and labour intensives in erection of structures, optimisation of calculations in construction at developed territories with high level of ground water.
