FIELD: power engineering, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: proposed method of burning hydrocarbon fuel includes oxidation of liquid or gaseous fuel by oxygen of air; combustion products: carbon dioxide and water are passed at temperature above 700 C through gas-permeable layer of solid hydrocarbon fuel, thus oxidizing it; oxidation products - carbon oxide and hydrogen- are mixed with air and are finally burnt or are accumulated in special unit for subsequent utilization; used as solid hydrocarbon fuel are: waste wood, peat, coal combustible shale, oil sludge or graphite, thus performing combined burning of hydrocarbon fuel gasifying solid fuel not by heat of its oxidation but by heat of hot combustion products of gaseous or liquid hydrocarbon fuel. EFFECT: enhanced utilization factor of calorific power of hydrocarbon fuels. 3 cl, 1 tbl
