FIELD: heating, fuel.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to power engineering and metallurgy and allows for solid fuel gasification using hydrogen recovering capacity. The combustion method of hydrocarbon fuel includes oxidation of liquid or gaseous fuel by air oxygen and transmission of combustion products, i.e. carbon dioxide and water, through gas-permeable layer of solid fuel at above 700°C temperature. After that the solid fuel is oxidized producing carbon and hydrogen oxide. The gas-permeable layer of the recoverable substance is located above the solid fuel, while combustion products, i.e. carbon dioxide and water, are transmitted from top to bottom at a rate ensuring retaining of the produced hydrogen in the layer or the recoverable substance.
EFFECT: combustion of hydrocarbon fuel in open reactor and use the produced hydrogen as regenerator.
