FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: to conduct the method one should prestain a slide. After applying a smear upon a slide as a monolayer out of a dosed blood volume, the present slide is kept in a moisture chamber up to saturation of a dyestuff with water vapor. A smear is divided into vision zones due to selecting areas with homogeneous characteristics of elements. When dividing a smear into vision zones one should take into consideration unsteady distribution of different-type cells upon a smear due to selecting a certain disposition trajectory of vision zones obtained. They are introduced into computer's memory. Pictures are simultaneously segmented. While analyzing the leucocytes an additional segmentation is conducted by a statistical procedure due to isolating intracellular structures of an object at the site of leucocytebearing picture. Information is obtained on the quantitative characteristics of blood cells and their qualitative description.
