METHOD FOR TREATING THE PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM INVETERATE AND RECURRENT CARCINOMA OF THE RECTUM Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying radiation therapy through a grid during the first 4 weeks at a single focal dose of 4 Gr 5 days a week. The treatment is continued after 3 weeks long pause with open fields during the following 3 weeks at a single focal dose of 2 Gr 5 days a week and 6 Gr during the eleventh week. Combined radiation therapy is given to patients with incurable cancer during 12 weeks with 3 weeks long pause. Radiation therapy is administered through a grid during the first 3 weeks at a single focal dose of 6 Gr 5 days a week. Intracavitary gammatherapy is administered on flexible tube X-ray device after 3 weeks long pause during the following 4 weeks at a single focal dose of 4 Gr. The radiation therapy is administered every second and fourth day of each week and radiation therapy with open fields is administered during the following 6 weeks ion with at a single focal dose of 2 Gr. The radiation therapy is applied at the first, third, and fifth day of each week during the first 4 weeks and 5 days a week during the following two weeks.
