FIELD: metal working, particularly, shaped grinding of blanks with regular pointed-apex profile, for example grinding thread. SUBSTANCE: intermittent working surface of grinding disc has regular profile such as thread profile and it includes even number of portions. Each portion is profiled with pitch P, where P - pitch of ground blank profile in which threads are absent in one and between them rectangular recesses are formed. Such recesses have width equal to P, depth equal to N number of allowance values for dressing disc and they are joined with respective adjacent predetermined-shape recesses. Profiles of working surface portions are mutually shifted by value P. At the same stage threads of blank are ground in one thread; each protrusion of thread profile is ground at one side. Next working portion of disc performs grinding of another side of thread profile. EFFECT: enhanced quality, improved efficiency of thread grinding due to reduced (more than twice) thermal stress of process. 3 dwg
