FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: working surface of the grinding wheel has an even number of sections. Each of them is profiled with a pitch P, where P is the pitch of the profile of the polished workpiece, with the profile threads remote next by one and with the formation between them of a rectangular cavity with the width equal to P, the depth equal to N allowances for wheel dressing and connecting the adjacent threads of the specified profile. The profiles of even and odd sections of the working surface are offset relative to each other by an amount P. The sections of the grinding wheel consist of two segments, the abrasive material of which has a different hardness. More solid segments produce preliminary grinding, and less solid segments - the final grinding of the workpiece.
EFFECT: quality of polished surfaces and the period of resistance of the grinding wheel increase.
