FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: scanning optical system includes positive lens and rectangular prism placed in sequence in path of light beam mounted for rotation relative to axis parallel to its refracting faces. Second rectangular prism mounted for rotation with reference to axis parallel to its refracting faces and film gate are added. The latter is located behind prisms in front of focal plane of positive lens. Rotation axes of prisms are mutually perpendicular and perpendicular to axis of light beam. Size a of refracting faces of each prism in plane perpendicular to its rotation axis is chosen from relationship , where d is diameter of light beam across input to prism; f is focal distance of lens; n is refractive index of prism. Size c film gate in plane perpendicular to rotation axis of each prism is selected depending on values d, n and a. EFFECT: provision for constancy of irradiance in scanning region and simultaneously for high efficiency of usage of radiation flux to irradiate scanning region. 3 cl, 4 dwg
