FIELD: optics. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use in obtainment of high uniformity of illumination of objects, for example, in investigation of effect of optical radiation on materials, in laser machining of materials, in optoelectron systems of recording or playback of TV images, in laser therapy. Device includes enlarging telescopic system and forming optical element coming in the form of two convex surfaces formed by flat rectangular edges and developed through 90 degrees relative one another. Number of edges N on each surface is odd, central edges are parallel. Dimensions of rectangular site, width of edge of forming optical element, inclination angle j of edge towards plane of central edge, refractive index n of material of forming optical element and specified focal distance f of device are intercoupled by relations specified in formula of invention. Size D of aperture of telescopic system and number N of edges of forming optical element are coupled by relation D=d•N. EFFECT: increased uniformity in distribution of light intensity over site of rectangular form in focal plane of device with minimal loss of energy of input light beam. 1 dwg
