FIELD: hollow-cathode gas-discharge lamps for nuclear-absorption analyses. SUBSTANCE: lamp has bulb with uviol glass window for radiation exit transparent in ultraviolet part of spectrum; bulb accommodates anode, insulating tube, and hollow cathode with internal discharge surface in the form of cylinder open on one side and made of material whose spectrum is to be obtained. Hollow cathode and insulating tube are provided with additional relatively coaxial holes of same diameter on side surfaces of cathode and tube their diameters being equal to diameter of cathode discharge space that forms through these holes, together with anode, a glow- discharge channel whose direction inside discharge space of cathode is opposite to that of radiation exit; additional hole of hollow cathode is located immediately at bottom of discharge space.
