FIELD: methods and devices for separation of heavy particles of material from light ones; technology of separation of minerals or separate contaminants from various powders or fragment materials, such as chips or fibrous materials. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is effected by means of device for separation of heavy particles of material from light ones by feeding the material to be treated to bearing surface which is permeable for gas and delivery of gas pulse flux to material through bearing surface for motion of heavier particles closer to bearing surface which moves in one direction ensuring removal of heavy particles and passage of light particles under action of inclination of bearing surface and/or gas flow in direction which differs from main direction of motion of bearing surface; removal of light particles is effected directing the pulse fluxes by wall located at angle relative to bearing surface and additional supercharging of gas flow at point of delivery of material at velocity exceeding velocity of bearing surface.
