METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF REMOVABLE INVESTMENT PATTERNS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2185920 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves manufacturing investment pattern from powdered mixture of single- component investment pattern material of 0.1-1.6 mm fraction and sodium carbonate of 0.01-0.3 mm, with volumetric ratio of components in mixture being, %: investment pattern material 75-80, sodium carbonate 20-25; providing dosed dispensing of investment pattern material into mold in an amount allowing investment patterns with porosity of 3-10% to be produced; pressing investment pattern material without preliminary heating by aligning detachment surfaces of mold. During pressing powdered investment pattern material is caked without substantial development of phase deformation processes and with formation of open capillary porosity, which compensates investment pattern expansion during heating in the process of melting from ceramic enclosure. Method is used for investment casting. EFFECT: increased efficiency by improved dimensional and geometric precision of investment patterns and ingots. 1 tbl
