METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF REMOVABLE INVESTMENT PATTERNS Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2185924 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves using material such as 0.01-0.3 mm fraction sodium carbonate pellets clad with investment pattern composition, with material components being used in the following volumetric ratio, %: investment pattern composition 10-65; sodium carbonate 35-90; providing dosed dispensing of investment pattern material in mold in an amount providing manufacture of investment patterns with porosity of 1.5-3%. Pattern investment material is pressed without preliminary heating by aligning detachment surfaces of molds under vacuum of 0.1 MPa. During pressing powdered investment pattern material is caked without development of substantial phase deformation processes and with formation of open capillary porosity providing compensation of investment pattern expansion during heating in the process of melting from ceramic enclosure. Method is used for investment casting. EFFECT: increased efficiency by increased dimensional and geometric precision of investment patterns and ingots. 1 tbl
