FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves manufacturing investment pattern from powdered mixture of single component investment pattern material of 0.1-0.6 mm fraction and sodium tetraborate of 0.1-0.63 mm fraction, with volumetric ratio of components being, %: investment pattern material 75-80, sodium tetraborate 20-25; providing dosed dispensing of investment pattern material into mold in an amount providing manufacture of investment patterns with porosity of 3-10%; pressing investment pattern material without preliminary heating by aligning mold detachment surfaces. During pressing powdered investment pattern material is caked without substantial development of deformation processes and with formation of open capillary surface providing compensation of investment pattern in the process of heating during melting thereof from ceramic enclosure. Method is used for investment casting. EFFECT: increased efficiency by improved dimensional and geometric precision of investment patterns and ingots. 1 tbl
