FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: process is realized by non-catalytic hydration of ethylene oxide at 150-190 C utilizing recycle water to prepare reaction blend. Concentration of acetaldehyde 0.00005-0.001% is maintained by way of preliminarily distilling away aldehydes from water recycle stream after the first evaporation apparatus before blend preparation stage or by treating recycle water with sodium borohydride.
