FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; applicable in production of charge material for cast iron production. SUBSTANCE: in the course of melting, metal is cooled to 1380-1420 C and poured into ladle. Preliminarily loaded into ladle is ferrosilicon in amount ensuring content of silicon in metal of 0.8-1.2% and carbon-containing material in amount of 0.5-1.0 kg/t of metal. Iron is cast into pigs, with casting finished not later than 20 min after pouring of metal into ladle. EFFECT: production of graphitized pig iron in pig and its preservation in pig iron with low content of silicon in its remelting.
