FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: selective extraction of nonferrous metals is achieved by fractional extraction at continuously changed solution pH value to be maintained constant during each periodical extraction operation. Extractant, namely CYANEX 272, contains di(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid as active component. Preferable extraction of copper ions is effected at pH 4-4, cobalt at pH 5-6, and nickel at pH 6-7.
