FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of purifying nickel electrolyte from impurities of Fe (III), Co (III) and Cu (II) ions by extraction with selective extraction of said ions from electrolyte into an organic phase. Selective extraction of Fe (III) and Cu (II) from nickel electrolyte is carried out with a mixture of oleic acid and triethanolamine in two steps, at temperature t = 40 °C with extraction of Fe (III) into an organic phase and at 5 ≤ pH ≤ 6 and temperature t = 40 °C with extraction of Cu (II) into organic phase. Selective extraction of Co (III) ions from nickel electrolyte is carried out using a CYANEX 272 extractant, active component of which is di(2,4,4-trimethylpentyl)phosphinic acid at pH = 5-6.
EFFECT: technical result is efficiency of selective extraction of Fe (III), Co (III) and Cu (II) ions from nickel electrolyte.
