FIELD: metallurgy; waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: method involves organic extracts and can be applied in nonferrous and ferrous metallurgy and also to clean industrial and household waste waters. Method consists in using, as extract, a special grease composed of 10-12 wt.-% of oleic acid, 4.5-6.0 wt. -% of triethanolamine, and machine oil (inert diluent). Process is carried out at pH 4-8. Fractional extraction involving selective isolation of impurities is possible. EFFECT: reduced expenses when removing impurities from cobalt and/or nickel. 10 tbl
