FIELD: materials for quantum electronics, in particular, single crystals for ytterbium lasers with a wavelength of about 1.064 μ re-turned within the 1 to 1.08-μ band with diode pumping. SUBSTANCE: with the aim of adaptation of ytterbium lasers to the existing element base offered is single-crystal laser material based on oxy-silicates of rare-earth elements with trivalent ytterbium as an activator in accordance with chemical formula MRe4-xYbx(SiO4)3O, where M-calcium (Ca) or strontium (Sr), Re - yttrium (Y), gadolinium (Gd), lanthanum (La); and 0,01≤x≤4, radiating at a wavelength of about 1.064 μ with a half width of the luminescence band of about 70 nm, duration of laser pulses of about 10 phs, half width of luminescence region of re-turning equal to 40 nm.
