FIELD: railway transport; permanent way. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to track repairs. Proposed method of cutting out defective sections of continuous track rails includes operations for releasing temperature stresses and cutting out defective sections by rail cutting machines. Temperature stresses are relieved by mounted jacks at borders of section to be cut out between the ties and lifting rail line to form wave in vertical plane. Prior to lifting rail line, rail is relieved from main intermediate fasteners. Jacks are installed in ballast boxes adjacent relative to section borders. EFFECT: reduced cost of repairs and time taken for carrying the work. 1 dwg
