FIELD: construction industry, erection of buildings and structures in seismically risky areas. SUBSTANCE: earthquake-proof building of suspension type comprises supporting bodies, double cantilever trusses, suspended part of building attached to trusses with the aid of gears of springy ties which include springy members and rigidity correctors. Springy members jointly with rigidity correctors realize condition of quasi-zero rigidity which enables low inherent frequency of vertical vibration of suspended part of building to be secured. Seismic insulation in horizontal plane is provided by use of sections of cable bent in the form of semi-ring and attached to supporting body and to ceilings of suspended part of building. EFFECT: use of springy ties and cable members makes it feasible to diminish vibration of suspended part of building in region of resonance frequencies due to increased damping in cables. 2 cl, 5 dwg
