FIELD: oil producing industry, particularly, development of oil deposits; applicable in finish development of oil deposits. SUBSTANCE: method involves selection of section of oil pool with producing and injection wells; determination of total amount of withdrawn oil, fluid and water for each producing well and duration of its operation; construction of isoline maps; separation of slightly drainable and dead zones on each constructed map; comparison of separated zones on all maps. Considered slightly drainable and dead zones are sections in separated zones coinciding on all maps. Oil samples are taken on selected section of oil pool at least three times and not rarely than once every three months. Oil light absorption factor is determined for each sample. Maps of isolines are constructed for each date of taking samples for determination of oil light absorption factor. Sections limited by isolines with maximum, medium and minimum values of oil light absorption factor are considered as active, slightly drainable and dead oil-saturated zones of oil pool, respectively. EFFECT: reduced material expenditures and labor input in method realization, accelerated and increased accuracy of obtained results. 3 dwg, 1 tbl, 1 ex
