FIELD: mining, particularly, methods of underground gasification of coal. SUBSTANCE: method includes setting of boundaries of gas generators, drilling-in of coal seams by holes, lighting-up of coal and treatment of coal seams with reagents and withdrawal of combustion products. Taken for coal seam working is upper substandard seam from contiguous seam formation. In this case, development and stoping operations on underlying undermining seam are performed by longwall pillarless retreating system with support of development workings in worked-out space and full roof caving. Undermining seam is subjected to lighting-up and working after disturbance of its integrity by undermining in direction corresponding to direction of extraction of underlying seam.
