SUBSTANCE: connecting unit intended for metal pipe lines includes tubular body with chambers, connecting ring, locking and fastening devices, locking member which is coaxial relative to body and sealing gasket which is main in form of bimetallic ring with sealing inner layer made from material identical to that of tubular body and locking layer made from material which possesses higher plasticity and deformability as compared with material of tubular body at linear expansion coefficient which is closest to similar coefficient of material of tubular body, connecting ting and locking member within range of working temperatures of material. Sealing surfaces of tubular body and connecting ring are provided with circular chambers of trapezoidal section whose surfaces are engageable with sealing gasket; total volume of both chambers is equal to volume of sealing gasket; sealing surfaces of tubular body are provided with circular projections for positioning the sealing gasket and connecting ring. EFFECT: enhanced tightness and corrosion resistance; enhanced reliability due to simultaneous deformation of outer layer of ring stabilizing interaction of inner bimetallic ring under external mechanical and temperature actions. 3 dwg
