FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: overcurrent release has bimetal strip 1 connected to current lead 6 and mounted on current lead clamp 2, and its adjusting unit is made in the form of double-face clamp 4 and adjusting lever 5 whose effective end is bent around rack 12 of trip free mechanism 13. One face of clamp 4 is fixed on end of bimetal strip 1 and adjusting lever 5 is loosely joined with other face for displacement and locking in position relative to rack 12 of trip-free mechanism 13 as well as for engaging it. Overcurrent release may likewise have U-shaped bimetal strip 1 with shank that mounts adjusting unit. Current lead may be stiff and connected to one of sides of U-shaped strip whose other side is secured on current lead clamp 2. U-shaped shunt may be installed in parallel with U-shaped strip.
