FIELD: electrical equipment manufacture. SUBSTANCE: overcurrent release has U- shaped yoke, bimetal strip with current-conducting strip producing current loop around U-shaped yoke, and L-shaped turning armature with spiral reset spring forming working gaps with yoke and loose end of bimetal strip; spiral reset spring is installed between turning armature and bimetal strip so that one end rests on turning armature and other one, on loose end of bimetal strip. Deformation of bimetal-strip release heated by current is used to release reset spring and deformation of cooled-down bimetal strip, to reset armature and to recover hold-down force. Operating current of release is reduced to 350 A. EFFECT: improved sensitivity of release and reduced operating current. 2 dwg
