FIELD: medicine, cardiology. SUBSTANCE: when determining the stroke volume of heart it is necessary to take into consideration patient's age and sex according to Starr's formula. It is, also, taken into account the presence or absence of valvular disease. The value of the stroke volume is multiplied by different coefficients. The method is true at ADs = 105-155 mm mercury column, ADd = 55-95 mm mercury column, heart rate = 60-90 min^-1. The method enables to increase the accuracy in determining the values of central hemodynamics that favors to detect in due time the disorders in circulation system functioning and prevent their further development.
