FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of production of hydroxylamine sulfate and can be used in production of caprolactam. Method of production of concentrated nitrogen oxide (II) involves steam-oxygen oxidation of ammonia, mixing hydrogen with nitrous gas, hydrogenation of nitrous gas oxygen under homogeneous conditions in gaseous phase at 600-1100 C, recuperative cooling nitrous gas, condensation of steam and isolation of concentrated nitrogen oxide (II). Mixing hydrogen with nitrous gas is carried out for 2 and more steps where 90% of total hydrogen amount is fed to the first step. Method ensures to enhance efficiency of process, decrease cost for equipment and materials, increase production of energy-carrier (steam) by 3%, increase yield of concentrated nitrogen oxide (II) and hydroxylamine sulfate, respectively, by 1.3-fold.
