FIELD: chemical industry; may be used in production of concentrated nitric oxide for obtaining hydroxylamine sulfate or nitric acid. SUBSTANCE: process of producing concentrated nitric oxide by catalytic steam-oxygen oxidation of ammonia is effected by regulation of consumption of ammonia and oxygen supplied together with steam through mixer to reactor of steam-oxygen oxidation of ammonia according to content of nitric oxide in the product. Oxygen consumption is additionally regulated by content of nitric acid in condensate obtained after conversion reactor with cooling of sample of reaction mixture down to 20-40 C. Process of steam-oxygen oxidation of ammonia is carried out at minimum content of nitric acid in condensate.
