FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: metal oxide or hydroxide and carboxylic acid are added into reactor, a mixture is kept preliminary at boiling point for 1-3 h and then liquid n-decane and sulfur are added. Synthesis is carried out in the mole ratio of metal to carboxylic acid = 1 : (2-5) for 4-8 h. Invention ensures to decrease the total time of synthesis of metal sulfide to 8-12 h and improve technological and economical indices of process significantly.
