Proposed heat-resistant and regenerable filtering element preferable coated with catalytically active material and designed for entrapping particles from gas flow has preset gas flow paths separated from each other by layers of gastight material. At least first coarse filtering stage and second fine filtering stage are provided in each layer successively in direction of flow. Description of invention presents method of manufacture of multiple-layer heat-resistant and regenerable filtering element for entrapping particles. Such as soot particles, from gas flowing through filtering element, for instance from engine exhaust gas flow. Preset gas flow paths are provided in filtering element. According to proposed methods, when forming gas flow paths in filtering element by means of separated layers of gastight material, at least one first coarse filtering stage is arranged on gas flow path, and one fine filtering stage, both filtering stages being arranged in gas flow successively, viewing passage of flow through filtering element.
